SGS awards TREX Semiconductor the AEC-Q101 certification
2023-03-15
On March 14, SGS, an internationally recognized testing, inspection, and certification organization, issued the AEC Q101 certification to TREX Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TREX Semiconductor). The certification was awarded to TREX Semiconductor's two automotive chips, TRW5065SL2-A and TRW3065SL1-A.

With the growing new energy vehicle market, people's demands for automotive safety are continuously increasing, and higher requirements are being placed on the safety and reliability of automotive-grade components. As a certification standard for automotive regulations, the testing conditions of AEC-Q101 are more stringent than those for consumer/industrial control chips. It specifies the experimental projects and conditions that various automotive-grade components must complete to verify whether electronic components meet AEC-Q requirements. It serves as the entry threshold for power devices used in the automotive electronics field.

TREX Semiconductor has strong R&D capabilities and deep technical accumulation in the power semiconductor field. The two automotive chips, TRW5065SL2-A and TRW3065SL1-A, both feature efficient switching characteristics, low conduction loss, and low switching loss. During this cooperation, the SGS testing team conducted rigorous testing on the two TREX Semiconductor chips according to AEC Q101. Leveraging certification standards and professional knowledge of chip products, SGS provided TREX Semiconductor with timely and efficient testing solutions, continuously ensured testing progress, and verified the safety and compliance of the products.

TREX Semiconductor will take the AEC-Q certification as an opportunity to further expand into high value-added application fields such as industrial control and automotive electronics. It is committed to providing customers with more complete product solutions to meet the market's broad demand for high-performance, high-reliability, and high-ease-of-use chips, helping high-quality electronic products made in China reach the world.

SGS is one of the members of the AEC Automotive Electronics Committee. SGS has been involved in testing and certification in the automotive electronics product field for many years. This year, it joined the AEC Q100, Q101, Q102, Q103, and Q200 subcommittees to participate in standard-setting work. With professional technology, rich experience, complete equipment, and high-quality service, SGS Semiconductor and Reliability Laboratory has now become a professional testing laboratory recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and many customers.
