TREX Semiconductor TR2181-A has passed the automotive electronics AEC-Q100 certification tests, including environmental stress acceleration tests, accelerated life simulation tests, package integration tests, electrical characteristic confirmation tests, and a series of automotive-grade certification tests.

 

 

TR2181-A is a high-side and low-side dual-channel driver IC, capable of effectively driving MOSFET and IGBT

About AECQ

 

AECQ is an automotive qualification standard established by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), which was founded by Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors to create a unified parts qualification and quality system standard. AEC stands for "Automotive Electronics Council," a group formed by major automakers and leading U.S. component manufacturers aimed at standardizing reliability and qualification specifications for automotive electronic components. AEC has established quality control standards including AEC-Q100 (integrated circuits IC), AEC-Q101 (discrete devices), AEC-Q102 (discrete optoelectronic LEDs), AEC-Q103 (MEMS), AEC-Q104 (multi-chip modules), and AEC-Q200 (passive components).

 

As an automotive qualification standard, the testing conditions of AEC-Q100 are more stringent than those for consumer or industrial control chips. It specifies the experimental items and conditions that various automotive components must complete to verify whether electronic components meet AEC-Q requirements.

Additionally, the handling of device manufacturing and design change notifications differs. For automotive-grade devices, re-certification and change notification requirements are much stricter than for industrial or commercial devices. For example, many minor process changes in industrial devices do not require notifying customers or re-certification, but automotive devices must strictly comply with AEC-Q100 change management specifications.

 

AEC-Q100 is a reliability test standard specification implemented for automotive applications, automotive parts, and automotive onboard electronics. Its purpose is to establish quality management control standards and improve the stability and standardization of automotive electronics. AEC-Q100 certification is the entry ticket for integrated circuit manufacturers into the automotive field. Although it is not a mandatory certification system, it has become a common testing standard in the automotive electronics field.
